| Project Planning Training |
One of the most critical aspects of successfully deploying a CPR / EMR system is
understanding how to manage the process effectively. Based upon NOA’s 18+
years of best-demonstrated-practices consulting with clinical care systems, we
provide project planning training that consists of knowledge transfer regarding
practical aspects of planning a successful project. Our consultants will
work with your project team to map out site specific issues in conjunction with
industry standard practices for deploying a CPR / EMR system. Upon
completion of our knowledge transfer training your project management team will
be better prepared to tackle the real challenges of a deployment.
|
| Integrated Testing Training |
|
Integrated testing should be considered a high priority on any CPR / EMR
deployment project since it is the last opportunity to identify and fix issues
that were created as part of the build process during database development.
The approach taken with integrated testing can determine success or failure of a
project and that is why NOA recommends a robust effort for this undertaking.
NOA can provide variable levels of support and training for integrated testing,
all of which are based on our company’s best-demonstrated-practices experience.
Whether it is development of a testing schedule, template scenarios or actual
system testing, NOA can provide significant value in training your project team
on how to maximize the time spent conducting integrated testing.

| Go-Live and Transition Training |
|
After all
the hard work leading up to a go-live event it is crucial to the success of a
CPR / EMR deployment to have a thoroughly planned transition process.
Although there is a tendency for project teams to use boilerplate plans from
software vendors for managing a go-live transition, NOA knows the criticality of
integrating site specific requirements into a highly customized transition plan
in order to ensure success and desired results. NOA can provide highly
successful knowledge transfer training for your project team on effective
approaches to developing a go-live transition plan that is right for your
organization.

| Report Writer, UDD & DED Training |
|
Because NOA has written so many reports, we feel that we have
encountered the majority of the issues and techniques associated with the
Ulticare® / Patient1® / Vista / Misys CPR™ / Misys CPOE™ / QuadraMed CPR™ report writer.
Our experience has taught us that the following class curriculum achieves the highest level of competency.
- The first
class focuses on teaching the mechanics of the report writer as well
as how to recognize the structures in the report writer and how to navigate the
application. At the end of this three day course, the participants will
understand how the report writer works and will be able to navigate and make
simple changes in existing reports.
- The second class deals with the report writer data dictionary and how to access
and retrieve information efficiently from the dictionary. At the end of the second three
day course, the participants will have developed the five most common reports required to
retrieve visit and event oriented statistics.
- The third class is a UDD class which, over
three days, teaches the participants how to develop and use UDDs that don't consume all of
the available disk space or bog the system down with unnecessary transaction processing.
- The DED training focuses on the most common mechanisms used to insert default information,
modify the required stated of data elements and make data elements appear or disappear.
This course also runs for three days and looks at all screen driver types.
- The HTML class demonstrates how to utilize the report writer to display information in HTML format.
This course focuses on best practice and techniques for structuring intermediate files for HTML output. It also covers basic formatting
and the use of styles.
- The JavaScript class takes HTML pages to the next level by making them interactive and linking them together.
This course reviews some basics of the JavaScript language and includes useful techniques including refreshing pages, linking to other pages,
showing and hiding data(DHTML) and functions for repetitive tasks.
- The Advanced Report Writing class is geared toward those that have completed the first three classes and
have experience with the report writer tool. This class is tailored to your needs and is usually based on requests that the facility has
received but needs assistance in completing.

| Database Training |
|
NOA has developed databases at all of our client hospitals.
Our experience has allowed us to take a best demonstrated practices approach to the teaching
of the vendor databases. We take a procedure centered approach to our patient care
training and can offer courses that focus on specific departments or provide a general
maintenance overview. Our classes teach not only the meaning of each field, but also how
different clients use each field.
Our clinical consultants understand the environment that the
system will be used in and our experience with proven solutions brings meaning to the
sometimes abstract constructs of system databases.
