NYCHHC continues leveraging NOA for support with configuration and
development of an automated deep vein thrombosis risk based application
on Quadramed-CPR™ / CPOE™ at multiple facilities. |
|
July 2008: Since 2006
Negley, Ott & Associates, Inc.'s
consulting team has supported ongoing development and deployment of
on-line Anticoagulation Therapy applications using the Quadramed-CPR™ /
CPOE™ system.
Phase I of the Anticoagulation Therapy Initiative involved the
evaluation and documentation of a patient’s risk for developing Deep
Vein Thrombosis (DVT). This phase was implemented at the majority of
NYCHHC facilities during 2006 and early 2007.
Phase II of the Anticoagulation Therapy Initiative involves ordering of
therapeutic medications for the treatment of DVT. It is a
complicated, comprehensive project based on the protocols for medication
administration based on using the patient's weight and corresponding lab
values to determine clinically appropriate doses. The application is now
in production at Bellevue Hospital Center and Kings County Hospital and
will be going live at Metropolitan Hospital, Lincoln Hospital and Harlem
Hospital in the near future. The module is currently in
development at Jacobi Medical Center, and development will begin shortly
for Coney Island Hospital, Woodhull Hospital Center and the Queens
Health Network.
With the support of NOA’s Brenda Rollins, the
New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, the corporate
entity for all the NYCHHC facilities in New York City, continues to
demonstrate successes towards implementing automated, on-line risk based
applications for DVT (deep vein thrombosis) using the Quadramed-CPR™ /
CPOE™ system.
This implementation event is another significant accomplishment for the
NYCHHC towards their initiatives to
standardize configurations for utilization at all the 11 facilities
which comprise NYCHHC.
Congratulations to NYCHHC and NOA's
project team for continued successful deployments! This is another
example of quality and excellence towards community health by using the
Quadramed-CPR™ / CPOE™ system integrated electronic health record.

About Negley, Ott &
Associates, Inc. |
| NOA was formed in 1992 by
IS professionals with a desire to provide hospital information system
and clinical professionals with best demonstrated practices in
conjunction with implementing clinical software systems that focus on
patient care. The issues, personalities, opportunities, challenges and
solutions required by clinical system implementations require the
ability to meld sensitivity to clinical processes with the realities of
computing and patient care delivery. To date, NOA has provided services
to over 65 hospitals installing clinical systems using an approach that
stresses both outcomes and knowledge transfer. Supporting so many users,
both during and after their installation, gives NOA the opportunity to
understand the issues that make clinical systems work, and those that
don't. |
