Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn, NY
-- November, 2007 -- Negley, Ott & Associates,
Inc. (NOA) consultants, Dar Sabatino, RN and Stacie Barrow
began design and development consulting support eight months ago for the
eventual implementation of inpatient physician documentation at Coney
Island Hospital. This has been an extensive configuration effort
to further deployment of electronic documentation at CIH. On
November 28, 2007 NOA consultants brought CIH live with inpatient
physician documentation, which includes the following types of
documentation:
-
History & Physical
-
Progress Notes
-
Consults
-
Procedure Note
-
Discharge Summary
In addition to physician documentation, NOA also designed and built an
ICG (interactive care grid) for the physicians in order to facilitate
locating and reviewing of existing documentation. The ICG that was
designed and built by NOA has also proven beneficial to the nursing
staff by facilitating in their review of physician documentation.
Coney Island Hospital is one of the facilities of the New York City
Health and Hospitals Corporation (NYCHHC). Dar Sabatino, RN and
Stacie Barrow’s consultation efforts are part of an ongoing team
approach comprised of NOA and CIH personnel.
The recent inpatient documentation go-live event is an additional
significant accomplishment for Coney Island Hospital and represents
continued achievement towards improvement in community health.
CIH’s CIO, Silvana DeSimone, made a strategic decision to leverage NOA’s
best-demonstrated-practices expertise with the Quadramed CPR™ which
continues an already successful multi-year relationship with NOA.
Congratulations to Coney Island Hospital, Quadramed, NOA's Dar Sabatino,
RN, and Stacie Barrow for the recent successful deployment. This
deployment is an additional example of how NYCHHC continues to
demonstrate quality and excellence towards community health by using the
Quadramed CPR™ integrated electronic health record.
