NOA supports Eclipsys Sunrise CPR System implementation for Clinical Documentation and Knowledge-Based Charting™

December 2005NOA’s Pelvia Woods, RN of NEGLEY, OTT & ASSOCIATES, INC. participated in the implementation project for the clinical system at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ (RWJ).  This engagement involved supporting efforts to deploy the Clinical Documentation and Knowledge-Based Charting capabilities of the Eclipsys Sunrise advanced clinically based information system.

In November, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital installed clinical documentation and Knowledge-Based Charting documentation in three units at New Brunswick.  The project achieved a hospital-wide implementation for the Hamilton site in December 2005.  The scope of clinical documentation deployed involved interdisciplinary documentation for all departments that document daily shift assessments, plan of care, education and outcomes which standardize documentation.  The results of the deployment allowed viewing patient care documentation in a more concise format electronically without requiring access to the paper based record.  NOA’s involvement in this project included assisting in the development of clinical documentation configuration as well as evaluation of Knowledge-Based Charting standards compliance on the solution’s configuration efforts.

About Negley, Ott & Associates, Inc.
NOA was formed in 1992 by IS professionals with a desire to provide hospital information system and clinical professionals with best demonstrated practices in conjunction with implementing clinical software systems that focus on patient care.  The issues, personalities, opportunities, challenges and solutions required by clinical system implementations require the ability to meld sensitivity to clinical processes with the realities of computing and patient care delivery.  To date, NOA has provided services to over 40 hospitals installing clinical systems using an approach that stresses both outcomes and knowledge transfer. Supporting so many users, both during and after their installation, gives NOA the opportunity to understand the issues that make clinical systems work, and those that don't.
