October 2003:
BELLEVUE HOSPITAL CENTER
In February
2003, NOA’s Jeanie Eckmann, MT(ASCP) began providing clinical systems
consulting at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City. This
engagement included three significant implementation projects involving the
Misys CPR™ / Misys CPOE™ system (aka Patient1®/Vista ).
Implementation was completed in October 2003. Details are as follows:
Project #1:
establish a pilot for online documentation of
Colorectal Cancer Staging. This pilot is in preparation for
online documentation of all cancer staging protocols in Misys CPR™.
Project #2: establish a pilot for
online consultation orders and inpatient documentation. As a
result of this pilot, physicians are ordering General Medical and General
Surgical consults in Misys CPR™. The consult responses are
documented in the patient’s online chart. Tracking of the
consultation progress as well as a special chart review report were
included in the pilot project.
Project #3: implement complete
documentation of the online Anticoagulation Clinic visit.
This documentation incorporates the physician, nursing, and pharmacist
note as well as mandatory assessments and coding for billing. The
Anticoagulation clinic is the first area at Bellevue Hospital Center to
include nursing and pharmacy coding.
NEGLEY, OTT, & ASSOCIATES, INC. continues
to serve our clients’ needs, and Jeanie Eckmann’s recent consulting
accomplishments further demonstrate the ability of NOA to continue
delivering value and solutions to our customer base.
Congratulations
to NYCHHC for yet another accomplishment that demonstrates quality and
excellence towards community health by using the Patient1® /
