September 2003:
Hospital of Saint Raphael (New Haven, CT)
went live with new functionality on their existing computerized patient
record. The go-live included GUI order entry with redesigned order
sets for all specialties. These improvements were implemented using the Misys CPR™
and Misys CPOE™
system, formerly known as the Patient1®
system.
The go-live event represented
a significant accomplishment for Hospital of
Saint Raphael and involved the following clinical users:
- 26
Nursing Units
- 750 Nurses, Nurse Aides, Nurse Practitioners or APRN's
- 150
Residents, House Staff or Physician Assistants
- 18 Anesthesiologists
- All Attending Physicians
Hospital
of Saint Raphael implemented the CPR system in 1991 and began
the upgrade to the new GUI version over a year ago.
The hospital set their sights on improving ease of use for their end users
while improving quality of care. Utilizing the latest version of the Misys software, known as CPR™ and CPOE™, they were
able to introduce the new and improved GUI. This new design
and approach to leveraging CPR automation is just another example of the
commitment to quality patient care by Hospital of
Saint Raphael.
Congratulations
to the Hospital of Saint Raphael, NOA's
Joe Barone and the other team members for a successful deployment.!
