September 2003:

With the support of NOA's Chris Carr and Dar Sabatino, Queens Health Network, a member of the New York Health and Hospitals Corporation, went live with their initial implementation for the emergency rooms at Queens Hospital Center.

The implementation included all three emergency areas:  psychiatric, pediatric and adult.  The scope of the go live was extensive and encompassed:

  • physician CPOE

  • nursing automated order pick-up

  • patient tracking via HTML white boards

This same functionality and workflow is planned for deployment at Elmhurst Hospital Center, another member of the NYHHC network.

Previously the patient tracking, order processing and related clinical workflows were performed manually.  Under the new automation and workflow processes, the emergency rooms will achieve greater efficiencies and patient satisfaction through improved turn-around times and patient care. In addition to the clinical application improvements implemented with this go live, NOA also developed a registration-scripter program which automated the creation of a mini-registration visit.  The scripter program enables improved efficiencies and demonstrates additional ways NOA contributes to deploying best practices in conjunction with deploying a CPR/EMR system.

Congratulations to the Queens Health Network for another successful go live and for continuing to demonstrate quality and excellence towards community health by using the Misys CPR / Misys CPOE system!
