Announced April 21, 2003:  Pete Velez, Executive Director of Elmhurst (N.Y.) Hospital Center and Senior Vice President of Queens Healthcare Network is a recipient and co-winner of the 2003 CEO IT Achievement Award.

 

The 2003 CEO IT Achievement Award is sponsored by Modern Healthcare and the Chicago-based Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). This is a very prestigious award and follows the CPRI Davies award, which was also given to the Queens Healthcare Network in 2002. The criteria for this award are as follows:

Mr. Velez was one of two people chosen from a field of 50 applicants. A six-member panel of their peers subsequently made the selections after a four-week review process.
