May 2002:  Negley, Ott & Associates, Inc. brings Queens Hospital Center live on Ulticare® / Patient1® / Vista / Misys CPR™ / Misys CPOE™ Pharmacy Module.

Queens Hospital Center, a 200+ bed facility located in Jamaica Queens New York City and part of the New York City Health and Hospital Corporation recently implemented the Inpatient Pharmacy module from Per-Se' Technologies (former owner of Ulticare® / Patient1® / Vista / Misys CPR™ / Misys CPOE™).

Prior to the conversion to Ulticare® / Patient1® / Vista / Misys CPR™ / Misys CPOE™, the pharmacy department used a stand-alone system which did not offer the required level of integration for patient safety, etc. The implementation involved NOA's consultants and QHN's 30 pharmacists plus pharmacy administrative personnel and included the following applications:

  • On line order entry

  • Drug to drug interaction capability

  • Drug Allergy interaction detection

  • Unit Dose medication processing

  • IV solution processing

  • Automated label generation for IV's and unit dose medications

  • On line Adverse drug reaction reporting

  • On line Drug Intervention reporting

  • Automation of medication processing for the partial hospital patient population (OP's)

  • Automated chemotherapy ordering and processing

  • Up-to-date and accurate patient profile review

  • Ability for pharmacists to view the OP prescription profile when processing IP medications/IV's

  • Management reporting
