December 2002:
Negley, Ott & Associates, Inc.
(NOA)
brings
Forrest General Hospital
live on Vista for Anatomic Pathology and
Cytology.
Forrest
General Hospital, located in south Mississippi, is a 500+ bed,
multi-hospital, regional referral tertiary care provider with 2,800
employees.
Approximately
six years ago Forrest General Hospital hired NOA to help deploy
Ulticare® / Patient1® /
Vista / Misys CPR™ / Misys CPOE™
system across all of their clinical service departments. After a
very successful deployment, a few departments continued to utilize vendor
supported systems. The Anatomical Pathology & Cytology department was
one such department.
In the fall of
2002, Forrest General decided to reduce their operating costs by leveraging
the Ulticare® /
Patient1® / Vista / Misys CPR™ / Misys CPOE™
system for Anatomic Pathology & Cytology, which they already had licensure
for, but had never deployed. NOA was hired by Forrest General to
deploy the new version of
Ulticare® / Patient1® /
Vista / Misys CPR™ / Misys CPOE™ by December 2002. Once the decision was made to move forward,
the deployment schedule allowed only 3 months to go
live. Under the leadership and project management of NOA’s
Jeanie Eckmann, MT, ASCP, Forrest General Hospital was able to realize the
benefits of the new system in a record breaking time period for a CPR / EMR
deployment in addition to being one of the first hospitals to deploy the new
product as an
integrated care delivery system.
FACT:
The anatomic pathology & cytology departments at Forrest General process
approximately 1,700 cases per month.
Congratulations to
Forrest General for continuing to be a leading provider in the CPR
industry...!
